TGIF

Well, I've fallen off the wagon, again. I've started drinking soda on a regular basis, the last time was 3 years ago. Every day around 4 pm I get a craving for the sugar and the bubbly. I know how bad this is for me too. It's murder on your urinary tract, your GI tract, your teeth, and even your triglycerides, which even after 6 years of clinical practice I can't exactly explain. I think it has to do with the way the body processes all those carbs. It also leaches the hard fought calcium out of your bones, but even that's not enough to make me straighten up. So now I'm double fisting, drinking water in one hand and soda in the other, trying to negate the effects of the soda (which just makes me have to run to the ladies room). My dh tells me welcome to how the other half lives. Are most people addicted to soda/caffeine you think? I'd quit today, but the studio calico reveal is tonight. I'd quit next week, but you know I'm working on that Cosmo Cricket thing. It's always an excuse with addicts though isn't it?

My last June Studio calico layout, because I'm out of actual paper except scraps. Well, I am saving the apple paper for the Fall pictures I hope to take.

Vrey cute, and I hear you about the soda. I used to drink over 5 cokes a day and am weaning my self to one a day and want to just quit altogether. Laughing about the double fisting comment.

LoL about your soda habit. what's worse for me is that i can't stand diet ... so i drink regular. Yikes!

Gorgeous work....The other half lives like me....don't be so hard on yourself...there are worse things to be addicted to like I don't know drugs or alcohol....congrats on the dt for Cosmo Cricket you deserve the opportunity!

aww, now my diet coke isn't tasting so good :) but i think there are worse things you could be doing, right?

I love my soda...have to have one at lunch. Have been buying the 100 calorie cans because I always like the first few sips the best, and that way, the small cans make me feel better about my "habit".

So funny you blogged about the pop thing because I am having issues with it now b/c my DH said I am drinking too much pop and b/c my mom has borderline diabetes and there's that risk of gestational diabetes I need to stop but I don't want to b/c it sometimes helps with the nausea, at least the pepsi does, and one can a day is not bad in my opinion but dh is a dietitian so what do I know?! Whew that was a long sentence. LOL. So, I TOTALLY understand your dilemna and have no problems if you continue delighting yourself in soda/pop. I won't tell a soul.

I was drinking lots of soda too, but I finally had to quit. Bummer, because I crave the sweet bubbly goodness too. But it does take a toll on the body and my body ain't getting any younger! Good luck girl!!

As I sit here finishing off my second Coke of the day before noon ... I hear ya. I actually keep my weight down by drinking the regular instead of the diet. The diet makes me hungry and I heard that it actually makes you put on weight. Don't know if it's right or not, but that's my justification for going with the hard stuff!
Congratulations on CC! I had thought about throwing in my hat but now I'm glad that I didn't bother when I see the fantastic talent they chose!

I have given up soda many many times and I always go back. But I tell myself I'm not as bad as my husband because the second he sat down in the dentists chair she said, "You drink a lot of pop, don't you?"

I really should stop for good because I don't want to have old lady bones before I'm an old lady!!

Great layout. I cut way back on the soda when I lost a bunch of lbs and I can really feel it in water weight when I hve the occasional one...ie 1-2/week at most. I do suck downt eh water like it is diet coke though!

Thanks for the reminder!!! I had cut it out of my diet, but noticed it slowly sneaking back in. I'm not cutting it out again!! I love water anyways so it's ok... :)

Ohhhhh Danielle!! I am soooooo addicted to soda, but only at that 4:15 time in the afternoon...when you kick it, please share your secret!! my urinary tract can't take much more!! (i know, i know...TMI!!!)
