Introspection

A few more layouts from the guest design team position at A Million Little Things:

I had the worst stomach ache yesterday, it was very bad. I told dh that my sister had finally given me an ulcer. J keeps choosing Kung Fu Panda for his tv time, and it has all these Chinese proverbs in it that keep giving me pause. The one yesterday seemed to really speak to me:

A man often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it.
Kind of a round about way of saying we are not in control, and when we think we are, it's just an illusion. Thank you so much for all the well wishes, I'm really touched. I keep starting to do a layout about her, and then I stop. It's too much right now I think. Maybe in a day or two.
I'm really examining where I want to go with scrapbooking. And I don't mean design teams or publishing. I mean, me. What do I want out of this? What do I want to leave behind? What do I really want to say? What is going to mean the most to me in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years? What will I wish I had written down? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Otherwise, nothing much going on here, it's still snowing at the moment. I hope you have a great day!

I, too, am always trying to make sure I "preserve" each and every memory and try to anticipate what I might regret missing. I already have so many things with baby peanut that I know I want to capture better than I did with Caeden.

Great layouts, as usual and more prayers for your family going up from me.

ahhhh...the big questions. I've been working hard for the past year on really getting down to the storytelling aspect of scrapbooking -- making sure I have these family memories told, instead of just playing with pretty paper and pictures and lots of embellishments. It's changed the way I do a lot of things...

great layouts, too! I love that top one!

Beautiful LOs Danielle. Sorry to hear your sis has an infection. I just don't get why hospitals don't prophylax. Frustrating for sure.

Love the layouts - the first one is just perfect in every way! Hope your tummy is better today and that your sister is making progress. It is important to re-evaluate from time to time what the content of our scrapbooking is and why.

LOVE the first layout... and have fun figuring it out. I am working on figuring out about where I want to go not only with scrapbooking, but my life. I sense I season of change is afoot.

I know what you mean - I want to try and record the ordinary things that I would probably forget. Silly things that are said, routines, that kind of thing.

I hope you work out where you want it to go :)

ahhh...but if you knew all those answers, grasshopper, you wouldn't have to scrapbook in the first place. love what you did for a million memories. i went to visit you on their blog.

the word verification for my comment is 'patoot'. i think someone did that on purpose.
