5 Random things

On my mind:

1. I think I have some sort of crazy static electricity problem. In my house 3 light bulbs have burned out in the past 2 days, and the battery in my remote control to my car is dead. We are going to Walmart today to look for replacements.

2. I am actually this far behind-still scrapping photos from my pregnancy with J. But I finished this one with the new Chemistry from Cosmo Cricket:

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Chemistry Patterned paper Togetherness; Cosmo Cricket Chemistry die cut heart; plus White cardstock; Heidi Swapp Felt flower; Scenic Route Rub-on; 7 Gypsies photo turn; Prima Urban Cosmos Brad; Rhinestone from Michaels.

Instructions: I would call this a hybrid layout, only because instead of using black cardstock (which you totally could) I made my black box on the computer with the shape tool in photoshop. I also printed out the text via the computer. I then cut the Cosmo Patterned paper to size. You could instead mat patterned paper with white cardstock and layer over black cardstock rectangle. I used the pre-cut die cut Chemistry heart that came with the papercrafting kit, layering the rub-on and flower over it. Then I used a Making Memories piercing tool to add the brad and photo turn.

3. Debating starting my Christmas shopping, but I'm in denial about how much it is going to cost. But my neighbor put her Christmas lights up yesterday, holy crap! I got J's holiday outfits, looking forward to the photo shoot for Christmas cards.

4. I don't like matte or soft gloss photo paper. I like the look of traditional photo-type paper. This is a problem since I picked up two packages of the soft gloss on sale. Thinking of exchanging one for the photo paper. Do you have a preference?

5. Thinking about CHA. Have you been? What was your experience? Is it worth going for a designer? Looking forward to your opinions. Have a great Wednesday.

Good morning!
I just started using the epson lustre ad it is so nice, I am really liking it. I don't care for the matte finish though.
Such a cute photo of your "tummy" and fun to think back to those pregnancy days..they really went by fast, huh?

1. Well, I love the soft gloss because it is closer to the matte finish and still prints really well on my home printer (which I haven't found a matte one that does as well).

2. As for CHA - worth it? Depends on your definition of worthwhile. What is it you want to do or get out of it? Will you be overwhelmed by all the stuff and new product? Yes. Will you get to see what is up and coming? Yes. Will it be hard to wait for all those goodies once you know what is going to be available? Yes. Will you meet a TON of people you "know?" Yes. Will there be squealing and excitement? Yes. Will you be exhausted at the end of the day? Yes. Will your feet hurt? Yes. Will it be fun? Yes.

Now all that is assuming you are walking the floor and not working a booth. Working a booth is fun too - but honestly, I would rather go on my own and walk the floor and have freedom. You see more and do more that way!

I am so jealous of your pregnancy photos! I had an unexpected pregnancy, so I was kind of in denial the whole time, not to mention I was sick and miserable...and I really regret not getting some better pics. I still need to do something good with them though, make the best of what I do have. Your layout is just lovely!

I've never been to a CHA, so no help there. And, I just love matte photos. I can't stand glossy :)

(just realized what a LOOOOONG comment this is! sorry)

i've got the same issue with photo paper - bought a whole package of matte and I hate it. But it's been opened, and a few sheets used, so guess i'm keeping it.

i'm going to cha for the first time this Jan...and i (selfishly) want you to come :)

Going to CHA is worth it for anyone who has a passion about this industry. Fun! Full of inspiration and excitement. Go if you've got the opportunity. I went Winter 07 and will cherish it as an opportunity forever. As for your feet - I wore Berkenstocks, not fashionable by many people's standards, but comfortable, and no sore feet.

I like glossy paper, and if you can exchange, do. If there is an artsy reason to use the soft gloss or matte, then use it, but for me it is a rarity.

That is a truly beautiful page. Gotta love the belly pics!

I like semi-matte/luster photos. I think it's because a combo of it's not as shiny and finger prints don't show/stick as much.

Lovely layout. The black and white really showcase the papers and accents.

Always love your LOs, and this is no exception. The slanted paper, the photo, the journaling, the heart, everything is perfect.

Love the new Cosmo line!!! and you rocked it! I prefer the soft gloss! I totally recommend CHA! It is fabulous to see all the product, meet people you know from online and just be a part of it! I will be going to Summer 2009 CHA again. If you don't go to winter, keep summer in mind! PS. You know I will be calling sometime down the road for you to be a guest designer! :)

Weird stuff with the electricity! Cute cute LO. I haven't been to CHA, just CKC. Got lots of good deals, but I don't like the crowds.
