Home Sweet Home

Please don't send out the guard looking for me. I'm ok, I'm better than ok!
Just enjoying my new house and yard. Did a bit of spring cleaning last week, didn't think it was blog worthy though. Love having a clean house!
Still a bit overwhelmed by the yard. Ok, a lot overwhelmed by the yard. It's not a big yard at all, a postage stamp compared to what a normal American yard is actually. But it is meticulously manicured, right down to the last raised bed. And I don't even know what's in the beds! Strange buds keep popping out of the ground, things I would have written off for long since dead have green stems and new growth. It's weird, and it makes my head hurt. All I've been able to do is pick up twigs with J, and pull weeds. One day (leaf) at a time. Photo from Sept 09.
We are spending as much time outdoors as we can, soon it will be too hot to bake out there so we are trying to enjoy it. When we don't get rained on. :)
I ordered some new carpet for the downstairs, but it's going to take some time to get it in. Once we do that, I am done with home improvement. Home maintenance/repair we will still have to do, but other than it, it's my dream home and I'm not touching anything else. Ok, I'm going to dead-head that plant out front once I figure out what the heck it is, but otherwise, I'm done! :) After that, I think I will finally feel like this house is ours. I may never feel like the yard is mine though. :)
I did 10 continuing medical education credits this month. When I'm not scrapbooking, I'm reading medical literature. Good stuff about antibiotic resistance (we have to culture everyone?! for everything?! according to the CDC). Sorry, I know no one but me cares about that.
And otherwise it's peaceful here. I suppose that's what has kept me away so long. Nothing exciting to write about. But peaceful is highly underrated, and it is good for the soul. To be with the ones I love, in a place I love, this is good. It's the good stuff.
And this month's Cocoa Daisy kit is good stuff too. Here is a glimpse:

Happy Wednesday to you! Until tomorrow. Signed-unbelievably blessed and lucky.

So glad you are settling into your house. That yard looks a lot better than our mud/weed patch. Can't wait til April when we have someone coming to completely dig it up and seed it all. Your sneaks look quite yummy! Can't wait to see what you created.

That is interesting having a new yard that you aren't real sure of what all is there. This summer will be an adventure! Great little peeks!

HA HA HA.....would you believe that I used to read medical encyclopedias (the kind written for the lay person) for "entertainment" when I was growing up. Convinced myself that I had everything from intussusception (was just gas) to sarcoidosis (was just a rash)!
